Presenter: Dr. Rob Scott, Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy Research, Economic Policy Institute
Details:  The Office of Management and Budget is proposing a dangerous "Factory-less Goods Production (FGP) and Global Value Chain (GVC) rule" to artificially inflate manufacturing production and artificially reduce the trade deficit. HERE'S WHAT IT WOULD MEAN FOR THE US: Our trade deficit would shrink and our manufacturing output would grow with the stroke of a pen, without adding any more real jobs or production.  Dr. Scott will discuss how the OMB rule will result in deceptive statistics that will cover up our economic problems.  Michael Stumo, CEO of CPA, will moderate and provide information about what we can do to stop this looming threat.
