Join labor, environmental, public
health, family farm, consumer, Occupy, animal rights, & other
social justice groups from Sept 6-15 at the 14th major round of
Trans-Pacific Partnership TPP) negotiations (near Washington, DC) to
demand an end to back-room dealmaking for the 1%. TPP will be the
US' largest Free Trade Agreement. Roughly 600 corporate lobbyists
have been granted access to the negotiating texts, but the public is
barred from viewing them.
TPP is likely to:
- Offshore good jobs to low-wage
nations & undercut working conditions globally
- Create new tools for attacking
environmental & consumer safety policies
- Deregulate Wall St banks, hedge funds
& insurance companies
- Further concentrate global food
supplies, displace family farmers, expand factory farms & subject
consumers to wild price fluctuations
- Lengthen patents, blocking access to
affordable, generic medications
